The Polar Bear is a large carnivorous bear that is found in the seas and land mass within and bordering the Arctic Circle. The Polar Bear is approximately the same size as the Kodiak bear with males weighing 750–1,600 lbs. The Polar Bear is adapted for cold weather with a body evolved for moving across snow, ice, and open water. Polar bears hunt their primary food source of seals from the edge of sea ice, living off fat reserves during the late spring and summer.
